At Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. we are constantly researching and using new techniques to maximize our patients’ satisfaction
of their new implant. We recently became one of the first Ocularists to fit a Magnetic Prosthesis. With a Magnetic Prosthesis,
we create a more secure attachment of the prosthesis to the implant and as result can enhance the movement of the implant
similar to a natural eye.
Here’s how it works. The Surgeon places a magnetic screw into the implant at the time of surgery. When suitable, the Ocularist
places a magnetic disc into the back surface of the Ocular Prosthesis, creating a secure hold on to the implant, increasing movement.
Mr. Haddad is available to provide a pre-op consult to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of all ocular implants.
