Custom Artificial Eye

Custom Artifical EyeThe surgical procedure to remove an eye is referred to as Enucleation. Surgery to remove the contents of an eye is referred to as Evisceration. Both will require restoration with the fitting of a Custom Artificial Eye. This restoration usually begins approximately six weeks following the surgery.

Fitting the Prosthetic Eye(Artificial Eye) begins with our Ocularist making an impression mold of your eye socket or residual eye. This procedure assures each patient the maximum amount of comfort and possible movement.

Our Ocularists have developed advanced art and sculpting techniques to recreate the most lifelike appearance. We focus on matching eyelid contours, eyelid folds, and the many components involved in achieving symmetry. Every effort will be made to maximize the amount of movement and to create an exact color match. We use only earth pigments in our Prostheses, which provides fine detail, depth of color, and vibrancy for many years. Our dedication and team approach with you and your referring physicians assures the highest level of care.
